Chairs and Professorships

College Chair - $1.5 million

The Judson and Patricia Harper Chair
Established in 2006, this chair will provide funding for research with biofuels as well as biotechnology for detection of environmental pollutants. Due to the Judson and Patricia Harper Chair, the College of Engineering has had the opportunity to retain and recognize a valuable faculty member and continue research by Professor Ken Reardon in chemical and biological engineering. Professor Reardon collaborates with industry partners as well as other disciplines to develop innovative alternative energy solutions.

University Professorship - $750,000

The Woodward Governor Charitable Trust University Professorship
Established in 2007, the Woodward endowed professorship enables the University to employ a strong leader to build the new systems engineering program. Ronald M. Sega, former NASA astronaut and undersecretary for the U.S. Air Force, has accepted the Woodward Professorship in Systems Engineering and will also serve as vice president for applied research for the CSU Research Foundation.
